Apparently it’s all about the birds this week. Assuming that you aren’t hosting an in-house aviary, I still think you can expect some bird visits when you put up these lamps designed by Kathy Ludwig & Florian Kräutli. The Swiss and German designers, met up in the Netherlands when they were studying at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. They state they tell “fairy tales” with their objects to communicate critical and relevant aspects of the surrounding world. These gorgeous lampshades are made out of vegetables, wafers and tapioca. Featured flavors: beetroot, cabbage and leak. I love the soft lighting and natural look of the shades and wouldn’t let a feathered one nearby it. Sorry birds, I’ll put up some fresh nuts for you outside.
