I adore the work of well known artist Kiki Smith whose origins lie in Germany, but who rules the New York art scene. She set her first steps in the art world in the late seventies and her sculptures were labeled as 'feminist art'. She explored subjects like life and death and her creations exist of sculptures, prints, installations and sketches. A lot of them are nature themed. Smith had over a hunderdfifty expositions and her work is also being portrayed by MOMA. I still like to get my hands on some of her art work and found these adorable pillow cases with sweet bird sketches and light bowls hanging from the branches. You can order those if you click here.
Kiki Smith is represented by The Pace Gallery.
